All the classes of food we eat are important for each class plays an important role in our bodies. It is important to choose carefully the quantity of food we take. The quantity chosen must have all the food types needed by the body.
When cooking the food we must also be careful with the cooking methods. Some traditional cooking methods can cause the loss of more than 50% of the nutritional value of vegetables. Boiling spinach, cabbages, and carrots for a long period of time will deplete all the water soluble vitamins as well as the flavor of the vegetables. The best method to cook vegetables is steaming at low temperatures to ensure that they are well cooked and not over-cooked.
A lot of fat while cooking the food should be avoided all the time. Fatty foods help in forming of fatty streaks in and under the layer of cells lining the walls of the arteries. The fatty streaks if not taken care of can be transformed into plaque-fatty scar tissues which get to bulge over time. The plaque fatty scar tissues formed may close the arterial opening and partly prevent steady blood flow to the heart muscles, depriving it of good oxygen circulation, and hence causing heart related ailments.
