Eating is an act. It is one of the most important acts in our lives. We enjoy eating for it is part of who we are and eating also represents our culture. We depend on eating for survival but we should choose the foods we eat carefully for food is the sole source of our energy and nutrition. So we must be careful when choosing the kind of foods to eat. Most of the days we eat for the mere sake of eating without realizing how the foods we eat affect our health.
We should know the classes of foods and the work each class of food does in our body. It is advisable to eat a small portion of food after a short period of time than eating a plateful of food twice a day and hinder good digestion. Fruits and vegetables should be taken in plenty for they help our body to fight diseases by improving the immunity levels of our bodies. Fruits and vegetables are a good source of vitamins. The best fruits include; pineapples, watermelon, oranges, grapes just to mention but a few. Raw vegetables are more nutritious and hence healthier to eat. Cooking reduces the vitamin content in vegetables.
